It was a privilege to film at Ufton Court last week for Sophie and Sam's wedding — a brilliant day in brilliant sunshine, and one of those where the setting does a lot of the heavy lifting for you.

The Venue

Ufton Court is a genuinely special place for a wedding. The Tithe Barn brings that rustic, fun-filled character that makes evening receptions feel like a proper party, while the manor house and the floral gardens give you something more refined to work with earlier in the day. The fairy-lit interiors add warmth without trying too hard. It's a venue that rewards a filmmaker — there's variety in every direction.

The Day

The Ufton Court wedding planning team kept everything running smoothly, which always makes a difference to how a day flows on camera. The sunshine held all day — the kind of light you hope for in July — and by the time the evening came around, the sunset over the grounds made for a fitting end to what had been a fun-filled, warm-hearted party.

It was great to shoot this wedding alongside Nadine Loretta, who was Sophie and Sam's photographer for the day. Always a good sign when you enjoy working with the person standing next to you.
