Sixteen years making films. My desire to make my best one yet grows stronger every day.

Music videos, celebrity weddings, documentaries that made it to the big screen, world tours with bands and working as official filmmaker for McFly, The Vamps and OneRepublic. A lot to be proud of. So much left to do.

I've been making films in the music industry and for my couples for sixteen years now and I still have a growing desire to make my best work every single day. Films that are unique to you and your day, telling your story.

Films that make you relive, cry, remember and laugh. Films that you're proud to watch and I'm proud to make for you both. I'm a four-time winner of the Hitched Best Wedding Filmmaker award — 2021, 2022, 2025 and 2026.

Alongside weddings I direct music videos and documentaries for artists worldwide — deansherwood.com

Sixteen years as a documentary filmmaker shapes how I approach every wedding. My style is cinematic but observational — I'm there with you all day, watching your day unfold and capturing it as it happens. I'll guide you gently if you need it, but mostly I'm just watching. The films I make are quiet records of what actually happened on your day, woven together with music and rhythm into something that feels like a film rather than a recording.

The music industry years — touring with bands, directing music videos, making documentaries that made it into cinemas — gave me a storytelling instinct that I bring to every wedding I film. It's an additional tool in the camera bag that most wedding videographers don't have.

Based in Hertfordshire and travelling across the UK and beyond for couples who want me there.

When you watch it back years from now, the emotions come flooding back — not just what happened, but exactly how it felt. That's what I'm trying to make. Not a record of the day. A feeling.

My story…

If you’re interested i’ve had quite the journey from being born in Watford to where I am now (back in Watford). I’m quite a quiet person, so unless you read this, or ask me directly, you’d never know… I prefer to talk about you two!
