I started out in music photography back in 2007 — touring with bands, shooting shows, living out of a tour bus. Moving into film felt natural, and my first wedding happened to be Tom Fletcher's, from McFly. He sang his entire speech to Giovanna. Twenty-one million people have since watched it. Not a bad place to start.

That world — tours, documentaries, music videos for artists worldwide — shaped how I shoot. I'm an observer first. I'm there all day, watching things unfold, capturing them as they happen. I'll guide you if you need it, but mostly I'm just present. The films I make are quiet records of what actually happened, woven together with music into something that feels like a film rather than a recording.

The music connection started earlier than you'd think. My dad played for Watford FC during the Elton John era — Elton's love for the club meant our family spent a lot of time at events he organised for the players. That's probably where it came from. I was at Watford as a youth myself, then switched to golf and played professionally for a few years before realising I was good, just not quite good enough. Ended up behind a camera instead. Turns out that suits me better.

When I'm not filming I'm looking after my ragdoll, Luna, hunting down decent coffee, or out on my bike.
