What I love about filming there

The house and conservatory are the reason. Light, spacious, and open enough that I can move around the ceremony and the speeches getting every angle I want without ever standing in front of anyone. A lot of venues force you into one position and hope for the best. Coltsfoot doesn't.

Outside, the reception space is genuinely beautiful. On a bright summer's day you get that backlit sun coming through — I had it for both Sophie & Luke and Sarah & Daryl, and it's the kind of light you can't manufacture. Sunset there is always worth waiting for.

It also looks superb from the drone. And then there are the alpacas, which are not something you get at most wedding venues and which guests love far more than they expect to.

The staff

Worth saying, because it affects your film more than couples realise: the team at Coltsfoot genuinely care about the day. When a venue's staff are on top of things, suppliers can get on with their jobs — which means I'm filming your day rather than chasing timings or working around problems. It shows in the footage.

How I work

Cinematic documentary. You won't be pulled aside for setups or asked to repeat a moment that's already happened. I arrive during preparations and stay well beyond the first dance, filming quietly in the background — most couples tell me afterwards they'd forgotten I was there.

I shoot on Lumix 6K cinema cameras, Netflix approved, with drone footage included as standard in every package where weather and location allow.
